On May 30, 1946, the Congressional Medal of Honor was awarded posthumously to Albert Earnest Schwab. The Medal was presented to Schwab's son, Albert Schwab, Jr., by Rear Admiral Joseph J. Clark while Albert Schwab Jr.'s mother looked on.
