Pikes in Service

The concept of a Memorial Headquarters, mentioned in convention records as early as 1920, came about following World War II as a way to show gratitude to the Pi Kappa Alpha brothers who served in the military, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
Over 155 years, thousands of Pikes have answered the call to serve their country in the military. They have fought around the globe in conflicts and wars. More than six hundred of these men gave their lives in service to their country. For their dedication, courage and sacrifice, Pi Kappa Alpha honors these men at the Gold Star Memorial at the Memorial Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. Here, visitors can learn about PKA's involvement in wars throughout its history, and read the solemn roll call of all the men who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, and remember them. Today, these Gold Star heroes are also memorialized as a part of this Digital Archive. Here, you can read the names of these heroes and learn more about their lives and military service. If available, you can also view archival material such as photographs, letters, and reports related to each Gold Star hero.
